Hello Dale Cards Fans!

So, my girlfriend who is a Digital Creative Director pointed out to me that the two categories of cards which sell the best on the Café Press website (http://www.cafepress.com/dalecards) are, number one, cards for CATS, and number two, cards for LESBIANS. I already had a great idea for Lesbians, so one of my jobs last month was to come up with a good cat card.

Ta Da! Here it is:

Then, I thought about men loving golf (and, coincidently, they also love Lesbians, but that’s another story…) I don’t mean men just loving golf, I mean LOVING, LOVING, LOVING golf, so I made this mug, just for your favorite golf maniac:

Enough about work! I have to tell you about a trip I took with two friends to the Barnes Collection in Philadelphia!

First, a little background: A rich guy who grew up on the wrong side of the tracks in Philly hated the Main Line Art Establishment. In his will he left his priceless, world-class art collection to a small African American University, instead of to some big museum. The caveat was that nobody could move it. And, it had to stay hung exactly as he had hung it and nobody could sell anything, not even for upkeep. Many law suits later, the small University still owns the collection and it’s hung in the same way Barnes hung it, but a judge decided it could be moved to downtown, near the other museums.

Barnes had the MOST UNBELIEVABLE collection of Renoirs, Cezannes, Picassos, Van Goghs, Modiglianis, you name it! I saw more Renoirs there than in the Musee D’Orsay in Paris! Any one painting would sell for more than the cost of building the new museum now housing the collection. To give you an idea, a Van Gogh sold for $250 million and I think I saw six or seven Van Goghs, just on the first floor. I was too overwhelmed to even make it to the second floor. Next trip! You’re not supposed to take pictures in the place but I snuck a few. Here they are:

Do go if you have the chance! And eat at Jacks Firehouse, first (http://www.jacksfirehouse.com/). They make homemade corn muffins and biscuits to die for…

I have to go now and find exciting things to do so I can tell you about them!

Love to you all,

Barbara Dale
